Delete your account

You can delete your WeHike account and all associated data at any time.

Paying for WeHike+ or Organizer? Cancel the subscription in Google Play first. Deleting your account does not cancel it by itself; we also try to stop the renewal, but only Google Play can confirm it.

From the app

1. Open your profile (avatar, top-left of the map).
2. Choose Settings → Delete account.
3. Confirm by signing in again.

The web deletion form will be available here before the first public release. Until then, email ubugnu@gmail.com from the address linked to your account.

What is deleted

• Your account, public profile, handle, private settings (emergency contact, privacy zones), plans and recorded tracks (including the raw GPX files).
• Your ratings, condition reports, questions and announcements, connections and blocks.
• Your outings: drafts are deleted, upcoming outings are cancelled (participants are notified), and past outings stay visible to their participants without your name. Your participation in other people's upcoming outings is withdrawn.
• Your club page (with its logo and its list of followers) and the clubs you follow.

What stays, without your identity

• Trails you published stay available to the community, with the author shown as a deleted account. To have a trail removed, email us before or after deleting your account.
• Reports you filed stay for moderation, without your identity. Content hidden by moderation is kept hidden.
• Records of your Google Play purchases (plan, dates, order number), unlinked from your account. Google Play keeps its own record of your payments.
• Crash reports are retained for 90 days.
